Andelsbuch | Around the Klausberg
Lovely circular tour around Bezau’s Klausberg, from Andelsbuch via the Bezegg and back via the Bregenzerwald cycle path.
The tour commences along the old railway line from Andelsbuch to the Bezegg reservoir. There you face the climb up to the Bezegg, an old mountain pass to Bezau. Once you have arrived in Bezau, you cycle across the Ellenbogen parcel of land as far as the Bregenzerach. Take the Bregenzerwald cycling path back to your starting point.
Directions
In Andelsbuch (613 m), follow the old railway line of the former Bregenzerwaldbahn (Bregenzerwald cycle path) for a while. From the Bezegg reservoir, you turn on to an agricultural path which takes you to the Bezegg (780 m). This is an old mountain pass to Bezau which was once of great importance due to the location of the town hall of the former “Wälderrepublik” (Republic of the Bregenzerwald). The Bezegg-Sul (1871) serves as a reminder. In Bezau (650 m), follow the road through the village and, at the Ellenbogen parcel of land, you reach the Bregenzerach. On the right-hand side of the Ach, you come to the Wilbinger part of the village. From there, take the old state road through Bezau forest. You then rejoin the Bregenzerwald cycle path, which takes you back to Andelsbuch via Bersbuch.
